We’re taking a brief break from humor to present a series of infographics illustrating the technological evolution of industrial processes for which I was commissioned. For this project, I proposed several different styles. Ultimately, Smart 7 agency and the final client chose this particular style for its simplicity and clean aesthetic. This approach perfectly matched their need for clarity and simplicity in presenting information. The use of purple was determined by the company’s visual identity.
Style Exploration
Before starting, I decided to present alternative ways to illustrate the various processes, using another part of the end customer’s corporate identity. Here are two attempts that I also found suitable, you can already see the base for the final infographics:
Technical Intentions
These infographics were designed to clearly and concisely explain the processes in which the clients are involved. I opted for a minimalist, vector-based style using isometric 3D to ensure maximum readability of the information. Each visual element was simplified to avoid clutter and to allow viewers to quickly grasp the different stages of the industrial processes depicted, keeping in mind that these visuals would also be supplemented with explanatory text. Thin lines and simple shapes facilitate visual navigation across the infographic, smoothly guiding the viewer’s eye from one point to another.
The chosen colors—primarily purple and gray—maintain a subtle contrast while adhering to the company’s visual identity. Purple, often associated with technology and innovation, helps communicate the idea of a clean, modern industrial future. The white background reinforces this impression of clarity and modernity while highlighting the key elements of each infographic.
Artistic Intentions
Artistically, my goal was to capture the essence of a modern industrial process while emphasizing efficiency and innovation. By using clean graphic elements and a limited color palette, I aimed to create infographics that are not only informative but also visually appealing. The minimalist style allows complex concepts to be communicated in a straightforward and direct manner, without distracting the user with unnecessary details.
The infographics are structured to show the interconnectivity of various elements in an industrial environment, such as wind turbines, solar panels, hydrogen charging stations, and construction equipment. Each component is placed to create a logical flow, reflecting the actual stages of industrial processes.
Sample Research
To accurately illustrate the elements featured in the infographics, we conducted extensive online research to find reference images. This involved searching for pictures of specific industrial components, such as hydrogen tanks, conveyor belts, and other machinery, to understand how they look like and what they do. By examining these references, I was able to draw each element with precision, ensuring the infographics were both technically accurate and visually consistent.
Key Aspects of the Composition
