Julien Bigot

Illustrator & Infographic Designer

Glad to have you here, adventurer! Since 2011, I create vibrant, personalized and professional visual content for education, apps, books, trade fairs, communication projects, and board games.

AI cannot create a concept from scratch without relying on existing illustrations from artists who were neither consulted nor compensated. Moreover, the technology follows statistical models and recombines existing elements, which inevitably leads to the standardization of both form and content, shaped by the unilateral vision of a handful of companies.

First of all, what artist would want to work with a company that puts cutting costs above quality and a solid legal framework?

Secondly, I believe AI fundamentally overlooks the lived experience, intuition, and cultural depth that human artists bring to their work. It also lacks creativity, active listening, professionalism and the ability to understand nuances in a business. Making corrections is not even a question (for now).

And that’s exactly what an illustrator excels at.

I know this might not make me many friends, but a robot can’t replace a human. I’m not even convinced that using it actually saves time or money when an employee tries to substitute the illustrator.

Game and book publishers, magazines, and nearly every company should prioritize original artwork created by illustrators. As experts in visual communication, illustrators help brands stand out and build a loyal audience by shaping a strong, recognizable identity.

That said, the technology itself isn’t inherently bad. It can be used as initial spark, to create something bigger. Still, we must stay critical, particularly regarding legal and ethical concerns.
